Thermal flying at Havenor Park - Saturday, March 12, 2016
The day began at 9:00 with super smooth air, a great time to float around. As the day progressed, the temperatures rose into the upper 60's to low 70's and the thermals began to pop. With the light and variable winds that prevailed all day, it felt almost like summertime.
There was much "stupid" air, meaning it was easy to find, and stay in it, consequently, there were lots of long thermal flights. As the day progressed, some high altitude clouds rolled in and provided good viability.
As Gil put it: "Wish we could get this kind of weather for a ALES contest".
